A Step Outside
Mixed media painting using acrylic, oil pastels, and glow-in-the-dark medium.
A Step Outside was inspired by my favorite little postcard town, Crested Butte, Colorado and my favorite off-roading adventures in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is the kind of place where the mountains lean in, the wildflowers act like they own the place, and the air tells you to slow down whether you meant to or not. I captured that feeling in this wildflower-filled forest. The small reminder that stepping outside your own head can be its own kind of escape.

This painting transforms when the lights go out
This series uses premium photoluminescent materials that respond to light and reveal a second experience after dark. Each feature below explains how the glow works and what makes this technique stand out in a finished piece.
What sets apart my glow in the dark paintings
Add short description for this section.
Day to Night Painting Transformation
The painting presents one image in daylight and reveals a second glow-activated design once the room darkens.*
Rechargeable With Ambient Light
Glow pigments charge through natural or strong indoor light and release a soft, lasting luminescence at night without any power source.
Long Lasting Glow
Archival quality glow pigments absorb light during the day & releases it after dark. The painting can continue to glow for hours with enough UV light.
Refined Glow Layers
Glow pigments are applied in layers, so the daytime painting stays crisp while a second design emerges after dark, adding depth without visual clutter.

Selecting the right painting
How do I choose the right size painting?
Start by measuring your wall space rather than guessing. As a general guide, artwork should take up around two-thirds to three-quarters of the width of the furniture beneath it. Larger landscape paintings create a strong focal point in living rooms and dining areas, while smaller paintings work well in bedrooms, hallways, or as part of a gallery wall. If you are unsure, use painter’s tape to outline dimensions directly on your wall before purchasing.
Am I buying an original painting or a print?
My shop has both original paintings and selected fine art prints.
Original paintings are one-of-a-kind works created by hand using professional materials.
Prints are high-quality reproductions of original artwork, produced to capture the color, detail, and character of the original piece in a more accessible format.
Each product page clearly states whether the artwork is an original painting or a print, along with full details about materials, sizing, and finish.
Will my painting come framed?
Details about framing are included on each product page. Some paintings are sold ready to hang, while others may require framing depending on the finish and style.
How will my painting be packaged for shipping?
Paintings are carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery. Protective materials are used to prevent movement or surface damage during transit. Shipping details and timeframes are outlined on each product listing.
How do I care for my painting if I buy an original?
Original paintings should be displayed away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Occasional gentle dusting with a soft, dry cloth will help maintain the surface. Never use harsh cleaners on your art as it may damage it.
